It is 38 years since Louis Armstrong passed away on 6th July 1971, he was once quoted as saying," Musicians don't retire, they just stop when there's no more music in them", to me he was one of the greats and his hit with "Hello Dolly was a classic, I've often wondered if he was referring to a real person in that song. stan.

from being a child i liked Louis Armstrong, i think it was simply the smile on his face and unusual voice. dolly may have been someone in his life, but i thought it was just a song from the film "hello dolly", with Barbara Streisand.
apart from the song "wonderful world", being his most famous and best, this is it's equal, click here for satchmo singing it alway gives me a picture of my grandchidren playing in sunny summer weather. cos they have all the time in the world.
