I believe we all use a QWERTY keyboard; that being the word spelt out by the first six letters on the keyboard.
Well often you will want to use letters and symbols that are not obvious on the QWERTY board, below is a list of the most useful: e.g. Press ALT + 0216 to get Ø

This will be handy for any Aussie or KIWI

Ø = Alt 0216
² = Alt 0178
× = Alt 0215
± = Alt 0177
° = Alt 0176
€=Alt 0128
£= Alt 0163
♪= Alt 13
♫ = Alt 14
Print it out and stick it up near your computer and you won't have to go searching when you need it.

Good to see the old DOS style is alive still. Another program I use is Printkey as it is free and handy when I want to print something of the screen with out all the other stuff. Interested to know if others are using it?

You’re spot on Les, Print Screen is a very useful tool especially for showing “How To” tips but now with Windows 7 there is an even more useful Snipping Tool that allows you to capture parts of what you see on the monitor screen. The more I use W7 the more I like it, it is so user friendly my older students come to grips with it no trouble once I have them accepting there is no key on the keyboard that will blow their computer to kingdom come.

Tony I am still deliberating getting W7 and I noticed in the paper today that there seems to be a compatibility problem with W7 and bigpond wireless connections in the aspect that it will not connect to the server. Could be something unique to us in Oz. The reason for not converting yet is I am still with XP and along with my old printer am looking at the fact that nothing is broken and all is working well. Just thought I would mention the connection problem.

If there is a problem connecting to big pond I would suggest it is a BigPond problem and you're right, "if it ain't broken why fix it?"
I believe XP will be supported till the end of 2010, if that is the case there's no need to change to W7 but when you do you will be delighted. :-D ;)
