1890: Needham vs. Kerrigan fight lasts 100 rounds
Boxers Danny Needham of St. Paul and Patsy Kerrigan of Boston fought 100 rounds at the California Athletic Club in San Francisco today before the referee declared a draw. "It was 3:15 a.m. when the fight closed, after lasting six hours and thirty minutes. The fight was a walk around from the start and there were more than a half a dozen rounds in which the men attempted to force the matter. Needham was pushed down three times in the fifty-sixth round and four times in the seventieth, but he arose and fought desperately both rounds after the seventieth," reported the San Antonio Daily Light on February 28, 1890
